Younger players from MUEFC U15 blast through to finals at Copa Coca Cola 5v5

The day before this weekends Copa Coca Cola 5V5 in Kendall some members of MUEFC U15 decided to compete for the chance to go to California and represent South Florida with a further chance at a trip to Brasil for the World Cup.

The age cut-off meant only the younger members of the team could compete. In addition it was such a last minute decision, that only 6 players could be found to enter.

After steam-rolling almost every opponent, scoring maximum points at the first four placement games and ending up the clear top seed they tied the championship 2-2 but unfortunately lost the Cali dream in a sudden death penalty shoot out. Just one penalty blocked them from a free trip to California !

Congratulations to Jahred, Michael, Cesar, Jerry, Justin, Edward who made it to the final with only 1 substitute for the whole tournament.

Many thanks to Paula Lotero who worked tirelessly to get us registered and find players and to Desiree Fray who stepped in to coach at the last minute.
