MIRAMAR UNITED ELITE U9 BOYS PLACE SECOND IN INCA COLA FIESTA TOURNAMENT
Coach Tino Ventura expressed it best, “They played their best game ever.” The Boys U9 team from Miramar United Elite faced almost double their numbers in the final of the Inca Cola Fiesta Tournament held on Saturday May 17, 2014. The Amelia Earhart Park crowd was definitely enjoying the game. The opposing team, Milan Miami had steamrolled all their games with 7 or 8 goal margins of victory.
However, the six boys from Miramar were ready. Nicholas Jaramillo was goalkeeper for the Final with Sean Crittenden, Logan Hall, Jahaziel Hall, Marcus Sanoir, and new member Joseduardo Campbell-Frech out in the 5v5 format.
The division was very competitive and with Miramar winning their first game with a good margin, they entered the Final in second place after three games.
The Final had no halftime! Just switching halves. With only 1 substitute to Milan’s 6 substitutes, it was a challenge and the U9 Boys performed. Proud winners of Second Place trophies and an invitation to come on the Lockhart Stadium Field at the next Strikers home game on May 31, 2014. It was a great finish to an enjoyable day in Hialeah.
