Congrats to the U-12 Boys for being the Tottenham Hotspur Champions

Meet the Champs of last weekend’s Tottenham Hotspur America trophy

Meet the Champs of last weekend’s Tottenham Hotspur America trophy- U12Boys Elite Division!
While this was the toughest of all three championships Miramar’s U12 Black has won all season, it was by far the sweetest! Our MUE boys weathered 40degree weather and won their third tournament championship of the 2017 season. Having won the Pines Classic, the Figo Cup and having lost heartbreaker 3-2 in extra time in the Miami Dade Preseason Tournament, the boys battled back from adversity to win the elite division at the Tottenham Tournament. They boys have played in 4 tournaments and have made it to 4 finals winning 3 championships. The boys were down 3-1 at the half to the number 30 team in the state and came back to win 4-3. Needing a win or a tie to make it to the final after losing to the Tottenham Hotspurs, and facing elimination with 12 minutes left being down 3-0 to Tampa Bay United, the boys earned their spot in the final with their improbable comeback with a minute to spare. In the championship game they were not to be denied, avenging their earlier loss to the host Spurs! Additionally, Goalie Zion Jean and Defender and Midfielder Brandon Frank were named Man of the Match, both walking away with a Tottenham Jersey!
According to Coaches Mauricio Zapata and Stephan Lopez, the words of Pelé hold very true for these budding athletes: “The more difficult the victory, the greater the happiness in winning.”
